In a democracy, elections work when voters are free to make choices and when they are informed. This is where debates play a crucial role – giving citizens the chance to hear candidates explain their positions on issues and enabling them to make informed choices at the polls.

As the country braces for the May 12 midterm elections, GMA Public Affairs and GMA Integrated News take a bold step in educating and empowering Filipino voters with an exciting multi-platform television special, “Tanong ng Bayan: The GMA Senatorial Face-Off 2025,” airing this Saturday, February 1 at 9 PM on GMA.

Over 30 top senatorial candidates – based on Pulse Asia and SWS surveys from December 2024 – were invited to participate in the event. While some declined, did not respond, withdrew or backed out at the last minute, 12 candidates accepted the challenge to take the stage and share their visions in running.
