Umar Khalid gets interim bail Umar Khalid gets interim bail A Delhi court on Wednesday granted seven days interim bail to former JNU student Umar Khalid, accused in the conspiracy case connected to Februaryadbackhome or ad casino, 2020 riots, to attend a family event.
Additional Sessions Judge Sameer Bajpai of Karkardooma Courts granted him the reprieve for seven days to attend a family wedding.
Khalid is an accused in the alleged larger conspiracy behind the 2020 northeast Delhi riots.
According to Bar and Bench, the judge while granting bail stated, "Considering the fact that the applicant wishes to attend the marriage of his first cousin and meet his relatives, the court deems it just and appropriate to grant him the desired relief."
Reportedly, Khalid was also directed to furnish a personal bond ofRs 20,000 along with two sureties of the same amount ahead of the bail.
The Court has also ordered Khalid not to use social media while on interim bail.
Other conditions include:
"My target is till Los Angeles but it all depends upon my fitness. If I can maintain my fitness and game, I will surely be there in LA," the ace mid-fielder told PTI in an exclusive interview.

Umar Khalid was denied bail by the Delhi High Court in October 2022. He subsequently approached the Supreme Court but withdrew his Special Leave Petition (SLP).
A second regular bail plea filed by Khalid in the trial court was rejected earlier that year, and his appeal against this rejection was pending before the Delhi High Court.
Khalid faced charges in FIR 59 of 2020, registered by the Delhi Police's Special Cell under multiple provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
